Many Tender Mercies :)

Hola my sweet familia y friends!
So this week was wonderful! I really forgot what we did but it was great! haha
But first of all I'd just like to say thank you to all your emails they mean so much to me!
This week me and my comps faith were definietly tried, a lot of our investigators we think just dropped us so we have been trying to find more people to teach.  But we do still have Ivette adn nicole which is a mother and daughter and they are starting to read the Book of Mormon everyday which I know will just help them progress so much so we were so so happy to hear that!  Anyways but other than that we have just been trying to find those who are being prepared and in this process I definietly feel like I have come so close to the Lord.  So one day this week in our prayers before we left to go contacting we prayed that we would just be able to help someone in need, and be an answer to someones prayer, so we went out with the hope that we would find more people to teach!  And when we were in one of our areas trying to contact a contact we saw this lady outside, but she kinda looked like she was tryihng to go into her house fast becuase she saw us but we went and talked to her apprehensively just because we thought she was trying to get away from us, but when we just said is there anything we can do for you? and she just immediately broke down, I won't go into the entire story but she had been praying and lookin g for someone to talk to and then she saw us adn knew it was an answer to her prayers.  Even though we probably won't be able to go back and teach her this was a big testimony builder for me becuase I know that christ is watching out for us in our little town, and I know that we can pray to him for anything, he is just waiting for us to ask.  Anyways but this week we also saw a lot of tender mercies!  Sometimes I know that christ is watching out for us just when someone does something to  make me laugh, or random people just saying you are doing something very good, or thanks for being here! haha its just through the hardest times that I feel like I am closest to Christ.  One more tender mercy was one day it started pouring rain and we were far from home without a rain jacket.. and we were just walking down the street adn this man came up to us and  just gave us his umbrella and then just walked speedily away! it was super out of the blue adn so so kind, really people are so so kind here:D
Also random story we went to a new part of our area this week that is just in the campo and it was really really and we both felt like there is a lot of potential in the area and not many missionaries have gone down there becuase its so far away, but it was so fun exploring it and people were super kind and we got to try some of the sweetest food! anyways but overall I just really want to express how much Christ loves us, and knows us, I have definitely prayed with  my whole heart this week and felt christ love for me, and its been through the hardest times that my testimony has been able to grow, so I am grateful for the opportunity I have to serve him:)
lots and lots of love,
Hermana Zimmerman:)

Feliz Pascua!!

Hola my sweet familia y friends!!
This has been a wonderful week! and happy easter!!
okay also many have asked me about my spanish... basically I'm a trainwreck! haha but like its really really funny! haha some people just laugh or just say like your american haha but I love this language and it gets better every day:)
okay but first some amazing miracles that really built my faith this week:) So we recently got a cute new investigator, her name is Melodie and she has 2 darling little boys and she is just so genuine!  And we taught her once adn then she said that she was moving to this  apartment complex, and so we were going to help her move and stuff but when we came back they were never there so they ended up moving just in one day but we were like oh no its okay we have her number! so we called and it was the wrong number.... now usually this would mean that she really didn't want anything to do with us but for some reason I was just like no lets just try to find her becuase she really was so genuine and like our only other new investigator and we just thought okay maybe we wrote the number wrong.. so a few days later we went to this area called san francisco which is huge and full of apartments but we just started at one and just began to contact.  anyways long story short we decided to skip a few buildings and go to one in the middle.. well her kids were outside adn they were so excited to see us! and they were like "we live here!" we were shocked that we actually found them and even more shocked that she actually was happy to see us and was hoping we would come! yayayay so now we have an investigator and she is adorable:) anyways I definitely learned a lot about faith, and Chirst will lead us to those who he needs us to teach:)
Also we had a nother milagro with ivette and Nicole(the mom and daughter) so they have been taught most of the lessons but just haven't wanted to commit to baptism, so this week we were planning on talking about it again, and about temples, but when we got there we just felt like we didn't have enough time and it just didn't feel right so we decided to bag our lesson plan and read from the Book of Mormon with them.  a few days later we went back to teach the lesson about temples ( I actually wasn't there becuase i was on intercambios but it is still really incredible) anyways so they went back with the lesson we had prepared and before we started Ivette said that the night before she had a dream that her and her daughter were inside of a temple and they were just like shocked becuase we haven't even taught her about temples yet and that is the lesson we had prepared!  They taught the lesson and the spirit was so strong, what is even more incredible about this is that her husband passed away in November adn ever since then she has just felt like this big weight on her shoulders so teaching her about the temple really touched her heart and now she is more excited than ever to be baptized.  Sometimes we don't know why we say the things we say, or plan to just bag lessons that we had previously planned, but christ does, he knows their hearts adn when the right time for people to hear the gospel is and that is what i love about missionary work.  Something I really loved that I was told this week was that many people have to be contacted 6 times before they listen and accept the Gospel.  Ivette and Nicole had multiple trajetas in their house but this is the time when christ knew was right for them to hear the Gospel. anyways I just love this gospel and I LOVE Puerto Rico and my little town of Cabo Rojo:)
okay short funny story: so this week I went on intercamios to Mayaguez which is a big city next to me!  During one of our lessons we were showing this mom the Prince of Peace video and then after I bore my testimony but she was sitting right in front of the TV and she had turned down the sound but it was this crazy zombie creepy movie so I am bearing my testimony but all i can see is like these creepy zombies I was trying to hard to focus but it was just so funny and just not opportune time for that to come on! hahaha
Okay sorry this is so long but this week we also had an all mission conference yesterday for easter! it was so so fun and peopl bore the most amazing testimoies:)  I  have seen christs hand in my life everyday sometimes its in the form of other peolple just saying something funny or somebody giving some juice but I know that he is watching over us.  Yo se que vive mi Senior.
I love you all so so much!!
con mucho amor, Hermana Zimmerman:)
before going out in the pouring rain

2 meses woot woot!

Hola HOLA hola!
This week has definitely been a learning week!  I learned so much about patience and faith!  For the last few weeks we have just been trying to find new investigators but it had always seemed that once we found someone, they actually weren't really interested... so it was just kinda hard to see that and I just for a little bit questioned if I was really being used and then we had a huge tender mercy:)  So one of our investigators is a mother and a daughter and they started being taught before I got here but I think during my 2nd week we went and visited them and it was really great and we were excited next time to talk about baptism again with them, but on our 2nd visit it ended pretty quick because her daughter was sick so we left slightly discouraged just because we didn't really know how to help them and didn't think that we were doing any good. but then the next week when we went over again to give her daughter a blessing she told us that the previous week when her daughter was really sick, the mom told her that it was all going to be okay because the missionaries will come, the daughter doubted however because we had just recently visited but the mom, she just felt that we would. and sure enough we did that day and she told us that it was such a tender mercy to them because it lifted their spirits and from that experience they knew that they were being watched over!  This was such a testimony builder for me because we just never know what people are going through sometimes.  on that visit we thought that is didn't go great and we felt really bad, but it turns out that it completely was an answer to their prayer.
sometimes we don't know why we are led to certain places or to do certain things, we may not even get to see the outcome, but I just truly learned that christ is guiding us to those in need and I love being his tool to help those people:) It is an incredible feeling being a missionary and I have come to grow such a love for these people:D
Anyways so overall this week was wonderful!
okay so funny stories:
also scary story.. okay so thiss week after correlation with the Bishop and ward mission leader we were walking back, and on the way back its pretty dark and just like forest all around with little urbanizations but there were 4 of us so we were all good! but anyways so we are walking down the street and and suddenly all of the other hermanas just stop in place with straight fear on their faces!  I was like so clueless as to what was going on (no surprise!) haha but anyways they just started running! I was so confused i thought like a horse or like dog was chasing us! it turns out that in the middle of the road the pot hole just began to smoke and bubble up, it was the most bizzare thing but what scared me the most was that everybody was like running! haha who knows what happened with that but it was so so funny!
okay honestly I hope this made sense! haha I love it here and I love this gospel and the people I get to serve and I love you all so much!!
con mucho amor,
Hermana Zimmerman:)

getting soaked by the rain!  but luckily we were on our way to a member house:)

Puerto Rico is da bestttt:)

Hola todos!
Well I have officially been here for 2 weeks! haha it seems like a lot more though!  I am learning so so much everyday and it is an incredible feeling to be a servant of the Lord:)
so first off conference was soo amazing!  I loved it so much, and needed to hear everything they told us so so much!  I loved especially the talks on following the promptings of the Spirit, this is definitely something that I want to work more on, because I know that there are people here in my little town who are being prepared to hear the Gospel its now just up to us to find them!  This week we had a really cool experience that I wanted to share.  so this week we found a name in our area book, her name is Anita and we felt like we should maybe go and find her, and then that week we got a reference for her so we were like okay we are going to find her!  the only problem is that addresses in Puerto Rico are almost non existent... haha not really but it can sometimes be challenging to find houses, most houses have a letter and a number but the letters rarely every cordinate with the streets it is the funniest thing!  one side could be letter B and the street across could be H!  Anyways so we searched and searched but could not find her house:(  BUT then the next day we were walking around the Plaza and we ran into a Recent Convert Cindy and she was like hey come talk to my friend!  It turns out that her friend was the girl we had been searching for and so we were able to teach her a little and we have a return appointment! We were to happy!  and what was really cool was that Cindy said that she was about to leave but she got the feeling that she should just sit down, and so she did and then she ran into her friend and us!  haha anyways Christ is looking out for us:)
Okay funny story!  I love the people of Puerto Rico so much, we have gotten so many random things this week and when I tell them im new to the island they are just so nice and I've gotten free ice cream and other things its so funny, the people are so kind!  Also yesterday, me and my companion were just sitting down in the Plaza sending in numbers and this guy came up to us and was like "here do you want a conch shell?!" and we were like "uh yeah sure!" he was like "I just fished it out of the ocean!" haha he was a really funny guy and he just sat and talked with us it was so funny!
Also one more funny story, okay so this week our water pressure has been pretty bad and so we called the owner of the house, and he was just like "oh yeah! that usually happens when the island runs out of water!" we were like what?! haha so we asked around and it turns out it actually does happen so we've been like stocking up! haha who knows what will happen but it was just so so funny!
Anyways I hope you all have an amazing week!  I love you all dearly and appreciate your emails more than anything!  The mission is still hard of course as I knew it would be, but I am learning to rely on the Lord:)
much love,
Hermana Zimmerman:)
